i miss the way you greet at the door.
i miss when you follow me to the kitchen.
i miss that you wait for me to embrace you.
i feel all my troubles lifted when i hug your small body.
i miss the way you climb into my bed
i miss you fitting your body close to mine
i miss you fussing over the blankets
when you finally sleep, i miss your soft breaths
i miss the smell of your skin
i miss the softness and smoothness
i miss kissing your cheeks
these lips have never felt anything more gentle
i miss your tiny mouth
i miss your tiny hands and feet
i miss your button nose
i miss everything about you
i know you are alive somewhere and growing up already. but i dont really miss the present you. i miss the memory of you. your small presence brought large changes to my life.
