"Milady? What are ye doing here? It is not right for ladies to be here!" John yelled. Lady Aurora Briseis Claybourne scowled and yanked John down to her height.
"Shhh... I don't want to be known!"She adjusted her hat that kept her hair within. She pulled her footman's uniform and tried a manly posture. "I want to know what's Flash doing inside." She craned her neck and tried to search for her bethrothed.
"Nay, milady. The Boxing Club is not for ladies. It gets bluidy in there. Bluidy." John repeated. Aurora heaved out an exasperated sigh. She suddenly look to the sky.
"Oh John! What in Heaven's name is that?" She pointed skywards. John looked to the sky and she pushed past him and slid in. She quickly got lost in the crowd which was quite easy. The men were rowdy when they were not in polite company. They were shouting, cheering and jeering. Aurora managed to squeeze through to the front. Her eyes grew big as she saw two men pounding their fists into each other. She was engrossed from the very first punch. Soon, she was cheering as well.
"Follow me quietly and don't make any sudden movement." A harsh whisper was heard directly at her ear. Aurora stiffened as a strong hand grabbed her arm and began pulling her away. The dark stranger pulled her out and she threw a frantic look at John. John shrugged. Aurora gasped as she tried to yank her arm away. The arm did not budged as he practically launched her into a carriage. She scrambled up to try to escape but the door was closed and the carriage was in motion.
"You do anything to me and my bethrothed will kill you. I suggest you let me go." She crossed her arm and gave him the best haughty look she could mustered. The man burst out laughing. She squinted in the dark carriage to catch a glimpse of his face. He loomed close and grabbed her face. He then covered her mouth with his.
"Flash! It's you! You gave me a scare! I thought i was being kidnapped!" Aurora hissed. Lord Alexander Maximillian "Flash" Hitre grinned. Then Aurora tunred sheepish. "How did you know I was there?" Flash motioned his head towards the front of the carriage. Flash took Aurora into his arms and kissed the crown of her head.
"Sweetheart, what are you doing there?"
"You are always there. If it's not the gentlemen's club, it's the boxing club. I wanted to know what is so interesting."
"You could have gotten hurt."
"But i didnt."
"But you could."
"But i didnt."
"Hells and devils! You could have gotten hurt should they get thrown. Some of the men in there are not gentlemen. What if they did..." Flash had shoved his hand into his golden hair and loosen his cravat with the other hand. Aurora frowned slightly and took his hands. She kissed his palms and look into his eyes.
"If it worries you so, my love, i will not go there anymore. I promise you." Aurora smiled. Flash visibly relaxed.
"I love you, Aurora."
"Love you more." They shared a kiss beofre Aurora yelled. "I'm supposed to report to Lady Dazzle and Lady Auburn about my trip. Oh, i left my dress at my carriage! I'll never make it on time!"
"I had John picked your dress from your carriage." Flash took out the dress from the back of the carriage.
"Help me dress, Flash, sweet?" Aurora asked with a mischievious glint in her eye.
"I thought you never ask."
